COVID-19 PANDEMIC

UPDATE TO BUSINESS OPERATIONS – 23/03/20

We take our responsibilities to the health and well-being of our customers and staff extremely seriously and, following repeated guidance regarding the absolute importance of social distancing during this unprecedented time, as of Tuesday 24th March ROAR Pet Supplies will be operating as collection only and with reduced opening hours until further notice. This is not a decision we have taken lightly by any means, but we feel this is the only way we can in good conscience remain open during this time of global crisis whilst protecting the health of ourselves and our customers as far as is humanly possible.

Reduced opening times as of 24th  March until further notice:

Tuesday 2-6pm

Wednesday 12-4pm

Thursday 12-4pm

Saturday 1-4pm

We will only accept card or online payments until further notice

What does this mean?

No customers will be allowed in store to browse and fill their own baskets. If you can’t take advantage of our online ordering service for collection (or delivery) you can come to the unit to purchase in person, here’s how it will work:

  • You tell us what you’d like and we will pick your order for you while you wait (if you can have a shopping list ready that will help to speed things up!)
  • You’ll make payment via card
  • Your order will be placed in a crate in a designated area outside the shop for you to pack into your car (we can pack it into the car for anyone needing help, providing a 2m distance between people is strictly adhered to)

Please appreciate that shopping this way will be slower, we ask once again for everyone’s patience and cooperation to help us implement these measures for the good of us all. Everything about this is far from ideal but if we all pull together, we can get through it!

We hope many will take advantage of our click and collect service online – our system unfortunately does not allow us to block out dates for collection so please ensure you place your order for collection at least 24 hours in advance. We all have to get food out to defrost so hopefully notice when we need to reorder at least a day ahead of time. For any purchases that you need same day, please visit the unit and purchase in person.

We are inundated with messages and orders at the moment and simply do not have the time to respond individually to questions regarding information that is available on the website and social media pages.

We would like to reassure everyone that, to our knowledge, all our suppliers are still producing and delivering as usual. For the time being we do not anticipate any excessive delays on orders. We will of course provide immediate updates should this change for any reason. Rawtdoor is back in production now so we are expecting another delivery in the next week to replenish the low and out of stock items from them.

Events are evolving daily and we are doing everything we possibly can to ensure we stay on top of it all and keep your furbs fed and happy while we all wait this out. As ever, if you have any questions or need our help with anything at all just give us a call or drop us an email, we may not be able to answer all messages immediately but we will get to everyone.

In these difficult times we must maintain our top priority – that of the health and well-being of ourselves, our family, our customers and the wider community – alongside our dedication to providing the best possible ongoing service for your furbs. Please bear with us as we all adjust to this ‘new normal’.

Update: 10th May 2020

Following this evening’s broadcast from the Prime Minister, the (only?!) clear message was that the key element in continuing to fight this virus is maintaining social distancing. As it remains impossible for us to follow these guidelines safely in our unit space, we will be continuing to operate as we have been since the beginning of the lockdown for the foreseeable future. Being a small, family run business we simply can’t afford either of us to become ill as this would mean we would have to close entirely to isolate, and the last thing we want is to leave your furbs without food for any amount of time. We are so grateful to all of our wonderful customers for your support so far through this crisis – everyone has been so patient and calmly adopted our new operating methods without exception. We’d like to sincerely thank you all for your co-operation so far and for your continued understanding during what are still completely unprecedented circumstances.

We will be opening an extra hour on Saturdays, now from 12-4pm (all other opening hours remain unchanged), and will be monitoring footfall to ensure we are open on days and times to allow everyone to shop with us as conveniently as possible. Our click and collect service has been working exceptionally well, allowing anyone who is having to self-isolate to place an order online and have it picked up by a friend or family member; we will also continue to run additional local deliveries each week until further notice.
